Add a customer

This is how you create a new customer record in FleetLoop. You’ll pick what kind of customer they are, then enter their basic contact details. Driver’s license and insurance photos are optional at this point — you can add those afterward from the customer’s own page; see Add license and insurance photos.

  • Know what kind of customer this is: an individual renting under their own name, a business that pays directly, or a fleet (a car-rental or loaner partner).
  • Have their name ready, and their email and phone if you have them — both are optional.
  1. Go to Customers in the sidebar, then click New customer.

  1. Choose the account type — Individual, Business, or Fleet — then click Continue →.

  1. If you chose Individual, type the customer’s first and last name. If you chose Business or Fleet, type the business or fleet’s name instead.
  2. Fill in email, phone, and date of birth if you have them — all three are optional here.

  1. If you already know their driver’s license number, expand Driver’s license (optional) and type it in along with the state and expiration date.
  2. If you already know their insurance carrier and policy number, expand Insurance (optional) and type those in too.
  3. Click Create customer.

FleetLoop shows a “Customer created” message, and the new customer now appears in your Customers list. Click their name to open their page and add anything you skipped — including license and insurance photos.

You started typing and try to close the form. FleetLoop asks “Your input is saved — close anyway?” so you don’t lose what you typed by accident. Click Keep editing to go back, or Close to discard it.

A name field shows an error. Individuals need a first and last name; businesses and fleets need a name. Fill in the missing field and try again.

You don’t have license or insurance details on hand. That’s fine — leave those sections blank and add them later from the customer’s page once they’re in front of you.
