Take intake photos

Intake photos are the “before” photos of a vehicle — proof of its condition before it ever goes out on rent. FleetLoop asks for seven specific angles of every vehicle, and this only happens through the FleetLoop iOS app on a phone, even if you added the vehicle from a computer — a computer’s browser can’t use its camera the same way.

  • The vehicle must already be added to your fleet — see Add a vehicle.
  • Have a phone with the FleetLoop iOS app installed and signed in to your shop.
  • Find good lighting and a bit of space to walk around the vehicle for clean photos.
  1. On the Fleet page in FleetLoop, look for the banner at the top telling you how many vehicles still need intake photos.

  1. If you’re already on your phone, tap Open in app →. If you’re at a computer, scan the QR code in the banner with your phone’s camera instead.
  2. Your phone opens the FleetLoop iOS app directly to that vehicle’s photo capture screen (or the list of vehicles still needing photos, if there’s more than one).
  3. Follow the app’s on-screen guide to capture all seven required angles of the vehicle.

  1. Once all seven photos are captured, the app saves them to that vehicle’s record.

The banner on the Fleet page no longer counts that vehicle, and the “Photos pending” badge that showed next to it in the Fleet list disappears.

The banner still shows the vehicle after you finish. Make sure all seven angles were captured — a partially finished set still counts as pending.

You don’t have the FleetLoop iOS app yet. Install it from the App Store on the phone your shop uses, sign in with your usual FleetLoop account, then scan the QR code again.

The QR code doesn’t open the app. Scan it with your phone’s built-in camera app, not a computer webcam or a photo of the screen.
