Stripe
What this is
Section titled “What this is”Stripe is the recommended way for most shops to accept customer payments in FleetLoop. There are two ways to connect it, and this page covers both: Set me up with Stripe, where FleetLoop helps you open a brand-new Stripe account, and I already use Stripe, where you connect a Stripe account you already have. Either way, customer payments go straight to your Stripe account — FleetLoop never holds your money.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You must be the shop owner. Managers and staff can’t connect or disconnect a payment provider.
- Have your bank account and basic business information handy (legal business name, address) — Stripe asks for these regardless of which path you take.
- If you already use Stripe, know the email address and password for that account.
- Only one payment provider can be connected at a time. If another provider is already connected, disconnect it first.
- In FleetLoop, go to Settings → Payments.

- Decide which path fits your shop, then follow the matching steps below.

- When you finish, Stripe sends you back to FleetLoop’s Payments page. Your status shows Active once Stripe finishes checking your information — this can take a few minutes.
I already use Stripe
Section titled “I already use Stripe”Pick this if you already run a Stripe account for your business and want FleetLoop to use it.
- Click the button for connecting an account you already have.
- Sign in to your existing Stripe account.
- Approve the connection when Stripe asks.
- Stripe sends you back to FleetLoop’s Payments page, with your status showing Active.
How to know it worked
Section titled “How to know it worked”The Payments page shows Stripe with a status badge reading Active, along with a link to your Stripe account.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”Status shows “Setup incomplete.” Stripe still needs more information from you. Click Continue onboarding on the Payments page to pick up where you left off.
Status shows “Restricted.” Stripe needs something resolved on their end (for example, a missing document). Click Continue onboarding and follow Stripe’s prompts to clear it.
“Only the shop owner can connect a payment provider.” You’re signed in as a manager or staff member. Ask the shop owner to connect Stripe, or have them add you as an owner first.
